How I Spent My Morning

The MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) is requesting quilts for Haiti. They want 60x80 inch or 82x90 inch sizes. I went through my pile of quilts and found a few that fit those requirements. I had a piece of that dandelion fabric (is it dandelions?) and started putting a new one together. The problem is that so far it's turning out too small. I don't have any more of the flower fabric so I'll have to keep adding borders until it's large enough. Unfortunately I'm also out of the dark green. I think I'll put one more border before the brown but I'll have to go through my stash and see if there is anything of a suitable colour.

I finished quilting Kitty Corner and sewed on the binding. Now I just have to hand sew it down.

I had to piece the back but I really like the look of the strip down the middle.

they both look good. just use whatever you have for the MCC quilt. I have plans to make one or two myself asap. how's the weather there? the sun has actually come out here -- so its white and clean and crisp looking. driving is terrible though.

Your Kitty Corner quilt is delightful. I like your border and backing.

I believe the flowers in the quilt you're making for Haiti are Alums. It's looking good.

Hi Joyce,
first time commenter, Long time loiter here.
Whilst you are feeling the chill we are feeling the heat on Australia Day (above 30). Happy quilting.

Kitty Korner is turning out so great...and it is so kind of you to make a quilt for the Mennonite Central Committee.

I'm sure that whatever you have to finish the quilt will be fine. A worthy cause and I doubt that the color choices will be the main topic!

You all must have good connections there. In our quilt community they told us Haiti does not want quilts, just money and we should make quilts and auction them and give the money for relief.

I suppose both would be useful.
