More Houses
Today I started quilting Kitty Corner. I am doing the sky in vaguely cloud patterns. This area is not the best example because the design works better in an open area. The snow is loopy and the roofs are stitched to look like shingles. It's fun quilting but involves a lot of thread changes to match the colors of the area I'm working on. The bobbin thread is all black because the backing is black. It will take me a few more days because I can only do a bit at a time before I get sore eyes. I'm thinking I need a magnifier that fits on my sewing machine. I read about one on a blog and need to do some research.
A few more bears have moved into the neighborhood and some trees have grown up overnight. Amazing. The tree on the lower left is fused. The rest are pieced.
I thought this was my 999th post but it turns out it's the 1000th. Stay tuned tomorrow for a give-away.

Kitties, bears, what next. I love the colourful village. You appear to be having an awful lot of fun.
Even with all the thread color changes, in the end it will be well worth it... Looking good so far Joyce! 8-)
You wonky Bear houses are adorable!
The bears are cute but kitty village is still my favorite!!!
bears? oh my! very fun, I think that house in the top middle is my favorite.
fun houses and trees. they look great from here.
My Uncle and a friend are both legally blind (although they can see). They both have very large magnifying glasses that go over their TV/computer monitor. You might want to check with the blind services in your area. Very nice looking quilting you are working on there - it adds a whole 'nother story to your quilt! Happy 1000th post! Cheers! Evelyn
cute quilt!
xo
This is looking very good, Joyce. I like them both.
Please post what you find out about the magnifier.
Lovely quilt. It makes me feel happy.
I'm enjoying this color scheme for the Bear Houses! What a nice change...and great way to look forward to Springtime.
Your quilting looks terrific! Take your time and enjoy...and be nice to your eyes. ;-)
