Finished!

This morning I put a black border on the Fungly quilt. It is a bit wider than the one I auditioned and I felt that it didn't need anything else. I will probably use a black binding too, although the pink polka dot is still sitting there saying, Pick Me!

While I had all my scraps all over the place I thought I might as well put together a few Mile-a-minute blocks. A couple of them are trimmings from the braid quilt. The diagonal is a bit obvious in the yellow and pink one. I might either not use it or make a few more like that.

Speaking of the braid quilt, I have it on the frame and have been quilting it for the last few days. I have already made three major mistakes on it. It has gone from being my favorite to almost my least favorite.

It looks great with the wider black binding. Perfect!

I hate that too when I practically ruin something with my quilting. Maybe that's why I have so many tops, they are still OK at that point.

Your fungly is really neat! Does the black and white dot of the innermost border call out to you at all to be a binding?

Those mile-a-minute blocks are really fun. I'll have to try those, too.

you get those quilt tops done so fast! The fungly is wonderful, very very fun :-)

Sorry you're unhappy with the braid one as you work the quilting on it.

I think you should go for the pink binding Joyce! I like how the black border frames the quilt. cheers QGB

Looks great Joyce!
Do you have any striped fabric that you could use for a binding?
I've got some Mile-A-Minutes tucked away somewhere...started them about 2 years ago now...
Sorry to hear you have been having problems on your braid quilt...

Ohhh, I love how it turned out! That orange fabric does tend to tone it down a bit (instead of the original floral). Great job auditioning fabrics and taking photos along the way - it has been fun to watch it all come together.
Cheers!
