More Options

Here are a couple more border options. I like the one on the left better. The problem is that I don't have enough of either. I'll have to either get back to Joanne fabrics, try to find something similar around here or try to dye something in a similar color. Not to worry. There is lots of time. It takes me at least half an hour to do each star and there are about 18 left to do. Not to mention assembling the whole thing.
Yesterday I changed the blade in my rotary cutter and was very annoyed that the brand new blade didn't cut well at all. There seemed to be so much lint. I was fuming and thinking I should never buy blades on sale. Today after only one day of use, I decided I would just have to change it. My face was red when I saw that I had loaded two blades at once. They kind of stick together when there are several in a box. I can assure you that two blades don't cut twice as well as one.

LOL! I've done that before...2 blades! 8-)
I too like the boarder you have on the left. I don't think a trip to Joanne's is necessary cause something could easily be matched up here...
It is looking really good!

had to smile re the blades -- 've never cut with two, but have at the last minute realized that the oil has made me install two! Not an uncommon oops at all :-)

I rather prefer the lightest option for the inner border, but that's me. I'm sure you'll find something absolutely wonerderful when the time comes.

OUCH - I don't ever want to figure out how ling it takes to make a block. Do you realize that you have 9 more hours of piecing ahead of you?

I really like the border on the left, too. I think it gives the whole quilt more energy and excitement.

Separating rotary blades is tricky, and I'm always sure I'm going to cut myself trying. You would think they could come up with a better way to pack them, so you know whether you have two or not and so you can take one without hurting yourself trying to separate it from the others.

Yes the left one definitely.
I haven't done the 2 blades but I have had the blade on the wrong way round. ( it's a mistake if you do it once but not if it happens again....moral if it's not cutting properly take it apart and check LOL. )

Happy Stitching.

Re borders - I like them both TOGETHER, so my recommendation is to patchwork these two fabrics into 1 border. For example you could alternate 2 inch squares of the left one with 2 inch squares of the right one.

Oops that is the kind of thing I would do!!!
