Thrift Shop Book

Here are some more blocks for the scrappy quilt. I have almost emptied one bag of scraps but there are still lots more if I want to make this one bigger.
Last week in the thrift shop I found this book by Debbie Mumm from 1992. It's still a really nice book with some good ideas.

Here are a few pages.

Your scrappy mile-a-minute blocks look great. Those snowmen look cute, too. I've never been big on Debbie Mumm fabrics, but some of the designs are sweet.

I think I have that book in my book shelf also... Good find!
Happy stitchings!

That book is one of the first ones I got when I started quilting. I'm pretty sure I made a number of projects from it (it's the one with the bears, right?), then I moved on. I got rid of it maybe 3 months ago, after lugging it up and down the west coast. Go figure!

The new-ish Mumm fabrics they have at Joann Fabs are pretty yummy. They're still pretty recognizable as Mumm fabs, but they're less... what? Cutesy? Farmy? I don't know, but I've been tempted to pick up a few, especially blenders.

I've been looking for something to make small mini wall hangings that I can change with the seasons in my home. I wonder if something like this would do the trick. hummm...

Love the snowman quilt in the book! I'll sure be on the lookout at half price bookstore!

I had that book a long time ago and made the heart quilt. I really liked the finished quilt and ended up giving it to my Nana's cousin when her husband passed away - I remember is was sort-ov a large throw size but smaller than a twin. I remember that the instructions were really slick and everything went together perfectly - got to love that!
Cheers!

I have made the bunny, cat, snowman and sewing machine ones. She had them for sale as individual patterns in the late 1980's and I just loved them. I have posted the snowman one but don't even have pictures of the bunny and cat. I just gave away the sewing machine top to a friend. You can have some fun with that book.

The new scrappy is looking great.
Love that book, & must keep an eye out for it. Usually I dont find many books like that at the op shops, but sometimes garage sales have such great finds.
