Which Border?

I have added the piano key borders and now I am wondering if I should use the pink as well or just end it with the narrow black border. It is about 56x65 without the pink borders. No matter what I do it will be a rather odd size, almost square but not quite.
Opinions?

I prefer having only the orange border. I think it brings some definition to the quilt.

I think it is good without the pink. But it is your quilt, so do whatever makes you happy, of course. I do think that the pink fabric is very fugly so it works too. Maybe use it as binding. Goes along with the theme that way.

I love the orange border. I would add the narrow black border after the piano keys and then add the pink. I think it needs definition between the pk's and the pink. I rarely put a narrow border on as the last as it just competes with the binding. It is also nice just ending with the pk's and then use dark binding.

Oh, I say go with the pink. I like the punch it gives.

the pink feels to me like its competing with the orange -- not because of the colour but rather because the other borders are either scrappy or more dark/muted...

What does it look like to take a light gray (lighter than the one you have) so you graduate the grays. The after the gray add a pink, but a more intense, deeper, vibrant pink (fuschia) to add more heat and intensity. No black after that. I'd bind it with the last border or it may look to stripy.

Leave the pink out and your are done with the black.... unless you put a narrow border of black, and then bind it with the pink maybe... still ending fungly then...
I am sure you will be happy with whatever you decide Joyce... 8-)
Happy stitchings!

I like it both ways - at this point, it might just depend on how big you want the quilt to finish out.

Maybe you can "split the difference" and do a half-width pink border before binding in black?

I don't suppose you're in the mood for more piecing, or maybe some applique (fusible or not)? A wavy pink & black outer border would re-define COOL.... muhahahahah!

I love the looks of the top photo! It's lively, yet it's not screaming at me. Maybe you just need a day off...and then when you walk into your studio the next time, it'll just "happen." ;-)

I'm leaning towards just binding it up in the black...or maybe using a small black border and a black binding to set off the piano keys. On the other hand the pink looks fun...I think I am no help at all!

I prefer the top option. I like the pink, but it seems like it would need to be double that width to work - for me anyway. very fun quilt.

I like the top one too. I think that bold orange border is just right. Looks great!
