Supper

I am working my way through my newest cookbook, Mangoes and Curry Leaves by Alford and Duguid. The main dish was Pork Curry in Aromatic Broth. I also made a Red Onion Sambol and red rice that I bought at the Indian store yesterday. I also bought Papadams, which we love. Dessert was Gujarati Yogurt Pudding with bananas. I was too full to get up and find the camera to get a picture of that.

I have never seen red rice before, nor have I seen it offered in any of our markets. I will have to look more closely for it. Last night I made a vegetable soup from leftover veggies I had previously roasted. All that I added was a bit of tomato paste and three large whole tomatoes that I had frozen last fall. It was the best tasting soup I have ever had.

Your cooking and quilting posts are so wonderful! Your previous post has inspired me to visit some stores in town.
